School Age Care
Our school age program - affectionately dubbed “The Clubhouse” - is a before-and-after-school program during the school year, and a full-day Camp program during the summer. During the school year, students receive homework assistance and subject tutoring, and teachers increase their focus on verbal conflict-resolution techniques. Students are encouraged to provide input on classroom activities and lesson plans and they learn about hierarchical group decision making (i.e., Chair, Vice Chair, Scribe). They are introduced to independence-building skills for when they may one day go home alone. They are held accountable for their choices - both good and bad - and are introduced to service projects to increase their community awareness.
During the summer, the Clubhouse is a full day camp, where children continue their learning through themed activities - field trips, water play (CFCDC) or pool time (Heritage Clubhouse), and lots of time outdoors.
CHEERS School Family - so much more than daycare!
